Call for survey respondents: Perceptions of Primary Languages in England. As part of the Progression in Primary Languages project, Dr. Rowena Kasprowicz has prepared a survey for teachers and teacher educators, relating to perceptions of primary languages.

A survey has been launched for the Progression in Primary Languages project at the Institute of Education, University of Reading, aiming to explore views on the KS2 Languages Programme of Study, approaches to assessment of primary languages, and beliefs about language teaching at this level (age 7 to 11). The researchers behind the project are keen to understand how the primary languages curriculum is currently being implemented in England’s schools.

They are interested to hear from teachers or anyone who is currently involved in languages teaching in a primary school in England, regardless of whether you consider yourself to be a languages specialist or not.

They are also seeking responses from teacher educators from both university- and school-based ITT programmes, who are involved in training new teachers to teach languages in primary schools, regardless of whether you teach on a general primary education programme or on a programme with a languages specialism.

They are keen to hear from as many teachers/schools and teacher educators as possible, so please do share the survey link widely amongst your networks.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch: r.kasprowicz@reading.ac.uk
