Today we held a one-day research professional development event for NCELP Specialist Teachers (from our Lead Schools).

The aims of the day were for teachers:

  • To feel more confident about distinguishing ‘peer-reviewed’ research from other uses of the word ‘research’.
  • To learn about some research into classroom practice, in order to begin to understand (a) the findings from this research and (b) what the studies themselves are like.
  • To identify links between the research and the issues NCELP has had to consider when delivering CPD and creating resources.

Visit the Resource Portal to download the presentation and a document with links to OASIS research summaries and questions for consideration (read more about OASIS below):

More about OASIS

The Open Accessible Summaries In Language Studies (OASIS) initiative aims to make research findings on language learning and teaching available and accessible to a wide audience.

Wherever possible, each resource within our Research Portal will be linked to accessible summaries of the research underpinning the principles of the pedagogy, held on OASIS.

OASIS is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).
