NCELP IS HOSTING ITS FIRST REGIONAL EVENT FOR MFL TEACHERS BASED IN YORKSHIRE

TUESDAY 8 MARCH 2022, 4PM – 5.30PM, LAKESIDE ROOM, RON COOKE HUB, UNIVERSITY OF YORK

You will learn more about the DfE-funded National Centre for Excellence for Language Pedagogy (NCELP) and our free CPD programme for MFL teachers to support you with implementing research-informed approaches based on the recommendations from the Modern Foreign Languages Pedagogy Review 2016

Professor Marsden, Director of NCELP, will give a keynote address. There will also be a question and answer session and the opportunity to see some of the resources in action, including the MultiLingProfiler, a lexical profiling tool for French, German and Spanish, developed by NCELP in partnership with Prof. Laurence Anthony (Waseda University) which profiles texts to show which of the words they contain belong to the 2,000 most frequent word families in the language.

Included also is an opportunity to hear about the new GCSE Subject Content for French, German and Spanish. The new GCSE Subject Content is heavily influenced by the same 2016 MFL Pedagogy Review upon which the work of NCELP is based.

Attendees will receive a NCELP goody bag of resources per school and will also be treated to afternoon refreshments.

We would be delighted if you would join us! The event is open to all MFL teachers in the Yorkshire region.

To register for this free event, please complete our Registration Form by Tuesday 1st March.
