Mel is Head of the Language Faculty at Presdales School in Hertfordshire. This is a large department in a state secondary school where French, German, Italian, Russian and Spanish are taught to all abilities. She has taught German and French for longer than she wishes to admit, to all Key Stages and in 5 different schools, mostly in Essex and Hertfordshire.
Mel has also been part of the NCELP pilot project since 2019 when Presdales was selected as a Lead Hub School.She has been leading her school’s involvement in this national programme and is now a Course Leader on NCELP’s CPD programme, she is passionate about improving Teaching and Learning in MFL and is enjoying exploring relevant MFL research alongside delivering CPD and working with her own MFL department to implement the new pedagogy.
