Nicholas Avery – Resource Developer

Since completing his first degree in French and Spanish at the University of Southampton, Nick has taught English through the British Council in Colombia and at a language school in Spain. In 2017 he completed an MA in Applied Linguistics for Language Teaching at the University of York. He has worked as a summary writer for the Open Accessible Summaries in Language Studies (OASIS) initiative and has also carried out research with the NCELP Director, Emma Marsden, investigating sensitivity to grammar and cross-linguistic influence during reading in a second language. He joined the Department of Education as a resource developer in January 2019.
